The Nevis Ensemble has been making guerilla-style performances in public places across Scotland since July 2018. Their vision is music is for everyone, everywhere.

Nevis thought they would respond in the most ‘Nevis’ way possible to the current lockdown. Everyone is invited to take part, either by playing instruments, singing or even some interpretative dancing. All you need is your instrument and your phone.

For those who might not have an instrument at home, or don’t feel like singing – YOU CAN STILL TAKE PART. Get out those pots, pans, wooden spoons, wine glasses, air horns, home-made pasta shakers… and make some music alongside the backing track.

They are accepting submissions till 8 April, already contributions are coming in from as far apart as Australia, Malaysia and Kenya.

Folk can submit things (and all the details are there) on the website here: https://nevisensemble.org/livingroomensemble/.

Here they are in action in this is a quite wonderful gathering at Oakwood Primary School, Glasgow in October 2019. We look forward so much to the days ahead when performers, children and adults can gather again in such joyful musical celebration.
