Available Friday, 1st May on Bandcamp, a collaborative music release supporting children in Ukraine through Dnipro Kids.

Dnipro Kids was set up by Hibernian FC fans when their Club played a UEFA tie against Dnipropetrovsk in 2005. Some fans took the time out to visit a state orphanage. Moved by what he saw, Steven Carr  set up the charity.

The charity successfully evacuated more than 50 kids from six Ukrainian orphanage families shortly after the Russian invasion,

Now the incredible story of Dnipro Kids is to be told in a feature length documentary, and a very special version of “Sunshine on Leith” is to play a central role.

Musicians from Scotland and Ukraine have collaborated to create a unique soundtrack from the film, with a haunting and beautiful version.

Bohdan Ilnytskyi, a talented Ukrainian composer and musician, is studying at the Royal Conservatoire Scotland and agreed to put together an orchestra for the track, which he also arranged. The singers are Luke La Volpe, who hails from the Lothians and has already achieved a Scottish No 1, and Mariia Sysa.

The song is being made available through Bandcamp on Friday 1st May, Bandcamp Friday, meaning all proceeds raised from it will go directly to support the work of the charity. The charity will be posting more info through its social media links, with support from the Club.

You can help the charity set out on the next chapter of its story, still to be written, as it is set to work with authorities in Ukraine to support not only those it helped evacuate, but the sadly growing number of orphans who have suffered loss because of the brutal war. Their story of trust and love continues…

Thank you, thank you.
